Becx:
You've inspired me to get some commuting photos. I'll even try to shoot some video to put on You Tube, which you can embed in your blog if you want. We've got to get some urban commuting action in this blog.

I do enjoy biking. Later this month I'm moving which will cut my already short commute by more than 1/2 and put me on much safer roads. Thus I will be "saving" fewer vehicle miles. I wouldn't bike to the grocery because I already walk! When I move I will replace a lot more trips to restaurants, shopping, friends by bike but they will mostly be under 1 mile so they won't add up to a lot of miles. I think this is a great effort and I'm glad to be a part of it. Just worth noting that another great way to cool the globe and increase personal number of bike trips (if not miles) is to move closer to where you work, shop, play and worship and encouraging the local government to build places where that's possible!

I enjoy biking but I'm moving. Bikes are great, so are city neighborhoods!

hi David,
Yes, there are about 7 hills on the way to work but not long and not too steep. (big ring hills). Just enough to make me break a sweat and feel like I got some exercise by the time I pull into the parking lot! Looking forward to seeing the pics of your commute-and get one of your hill!

Rebecca,
That looks like a sweet commute - are there any hills? The last 2 miles to my house would make a mountain goat ache. I'm sure I'd make more trips by bike to the grocery if the hills weren't so steep.

I'll forward some pics of my commute (not nearly as rural looking as yours).

Hey, that's a great bike ride to work! It's a really fantastic feeling to commute to work because you get there totally energized and it makes for a good start to the day. Thanks for sharing your photos with very nice commentary. I just love my Trek bike. :)

Cool program - I've been gone on vacation, and am just seeing this now! I'm in!

I get out and bike to work about 3-4 times each week (just east down the road a ways - near Waukesha). I find that biking to work is a)uses less gas b)keeps me fit c)starts my day off on a very high note and d)gives me some time to really think while not bombarded with all the noise during the rest of my day.

Biking is cool!
